Spend the day slow stitching with Zaheera, working with vintage French toile and twill ribbon to construct this sweet little pouch. The skills taught will allow students to understand both reversible bag structure and stitch basics. No doubt, many will go away to make more pouches in multiple sizes, using up every little scrap from their sewing room floor. Inspired by Japanese Komebukuro, a traditional pouch used in Japan to carry rice offerings to the temple during religious ceremonies, this pattern by Karen Stevens is fully reversible and entirely constructed by hand. Beginner hand-stitchers are very welcome as this is a wonderful first foray into Karen’s growing collection of hand-stitched bags and garment patterns.
