Kawandi

Join Zaheera in learning this hand-pieced quilt-as-you-go technique which incorporates elements of Kawandi and Japanese Boro. Students will enjoy this improvisational method of making a quilt where piecing, quilting, binding, and finishing is all worked at the same time. This is a wonderful scrap buster but for this class we will be constructing a finished 12” block using French General’s Spring 2023 Blue De France collection—a gorgeous collection of blue and ivory prints inspired by the faience tableware found in French country brocantes. There is only one stitch used throughout so this is the ultimate slow-stitch meditative project and perfect for those just beginning their hand-quilting journey.
