In the 19th century, the maple leaf emerged as a symbol of national identity, first in Quebec, then adopted by the rest of Canada, though the maple tree was an important natural resource for aboriginal people, well before Canada became a nation.

A fat-eighth friendly quilt pattern celebrating Canada’s national symbol, reimagined to portray the country’s multifaceted depth and diversity. Makes a stunning wall quilt.

• TECHNIQUE: Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP)
• SKILL LEVEL: It is assumed the maker has experience with FPP, though a description of the technique I use is included.
• FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 44″ x 44″ .
